• Kitchen Design Website

Hi everyone, I was wondering if i could get some help with a website i have been working on for myself for the last year or so. I own a Kitchen company and the site is running well with about six hundred hits a month. The one keyword that i found get huge hits is the keyword "Kitchens". (I discovered this using Google Adword) Obviously this is a very competitive keyword, one which i would love to get a result with but can't with my limited experience. I designed the site with a friend using a programme called Coffee Cup. I am happy enough with the site but would like to spruce up my homepage as it looks a bit boring and un-inviting as a landing page. When using Adword the keyword Kitchens was giving me up to eight hundred impression per day so you can see how i would do anything to get this keyword to work for me. I would appreciate any advice i can get and can PM my website address. Many thanks in advance.

• Promotion for new site

I have real estate site for agencies,where they can make info,pic and video listings! this is a new site with no traffic, which is no incentive. I will have to offer to do it for free, if I want to get them,wright!? So I have simple site,where can register their listings only agents and agencies, buyers will finde good quality listings instead of listings without pics or with one or two pics what happens often with residential listings. Is it good idea to offer this listing option only for agencies,because out there is a lot of Standard user listings!? So I will focus on the SEO of the site. So, and to get higher page rank I need to get a lot of links to my site and as well a lot of links about related information should be from my site. What do you think,is it good if I wil write articles about real estate market and real estate sites and links about related sites, to attract traffic to my site? And is it ok if I will make something like real estate article directory, so I will be first in google, cause our market from where I come on real estate is not huge, but I dont have nothing als to offer, because the big companeys will react and they will be infront of me! What do you think about real estate directory? Is it ok if I will make it related with my real estate listings??? I am a bit confused, cause I have site,not professional one,but its nonsense if I am not trying to make it active. And if will be succesfull I can make my plans in huge portal like zillow or daft. hi im becky cookie i got a 3v card awhile ago and opened a paypal account then on tuesday just gone i added money to my account but theirs no money in my account still after 5days,ive emailed them and got sum rubbish email back saying i have to have the account verified but it has been that was days ago they charged me the 1;50 for verifying my card and that's bin put into my account but still no cash,it says in my account irish-verified so were is my cash? has this happened to anybody else or just me? how long does it take for the funds to go into your account? somebody i know said it takes 3 to 5 days but 3v is not the same as credit card or debit card is it will it take longer because its a voucher? i wanted to get my son something with that money and now i cant

• Gmail succumbs to the spammers

I have an old site, using a plain contact form. On Monday i'd had 20 viagra emails all from randomly named gmail accounts. This morning I had over 100, with more arriving every 2 minutes or so. I added a basic turing test and it stopped immediately, so it's definitely bots at fault. The thing is, it's become easy for the spammers to get their hands on gmail accounts. I've heard they are even using cheap labour just to beat the captchas on some email account signups, and the AI captcha progs are getting increasingly more sophisticated. So it looks like capchas are dead - are turing (human intelligence) tests going to be a foolproof way to beat the spambots?

• Digiweb double broadband speeds...

Got an email from Digiweb today saying they have doubled my 3MB broadband speed to 6MB. I tested it over at Irish ISP speed test - check your broadband provider's speed (http://www.irishisptest.com) and it's working as they said. They still have a small lag on getting to websites initially but once connected, speeds are great. On a side note... I've a new 3MB line coming in from Imagine this week. I'll have to get myself some software/hardware to combine the two. Any suggestions are most welcome. Dave
