... Task Drop Version 0 0 1 ...• Task Drop - Version 0.0.1 »»Well if you’re following my blog you’ll no doubt know me or else you else you’re maybe stalking me hmm… either way you’re reading this. Well then you’ll also know that I have the domain I’m using for Geansai Gorm which for the moment is doing quite well. The real reason for that domain name is the following little image (or maybe application) ![]() Geansai Gorm AKA Task Drop Its a modified version of and open source Task Tracker called Task Freak. I’m modding it up to get it to where I want it to be. Added row highlighting based on priority … Added in various plugins that are available for it and so on. Aren’t these a dime a dozen you may say ? Well sure they are. Mine is different cus its doing mostly what I want it to do. In a very fast way. I’ve it installed on a demo site and I’ve already shown it to a few people. 1 friend wants it ASAP having played with it already. There are however a number of css / js bugs with it for the moment not to mention I have to package it all up for easy install. Anyways I hope this will inspire Stan the Task Freak author to get active on the project again. (Though as we all know time constraints / motivation can be difficult). A rather active member of the task freak forums has also put together a large number of plugins which are rather cool. For the moment I’m simply incorporating them all into the one system. His plugins / forum is over on Dracon - Task Freak Plugins At the end of the day what have I currently done on this little app you might ask. Not a lot … changed the look and made it a lot more shiny and usable in my mind at any rate. Some might argue that its gaudy and there is too much pink. (Well the pink being there means something is wrong .. you’ve missed your deadlines) Anyways if I can manage to get any interest on this I’ll try packaging it up ASAP for people to play with. (Alternatively why not have a play with the real Task Freak 0.6.2) What I’m not thrilled about with the original source code is its framework … its designed by stan and I’d prefer to use something with a larger community base and plugins) So I guess that will be phase two of my plan for Task Drop … take it from existing code. (It’ll be a good coding project as well helping keep my mind active. I’m seeming to be doing a lot of meetings / phone calls / emailing / talking / templating and graphics these days) Features of the system: Anyways enough rambling … I’ve got big plans for this. Its already storing 125 tasks for me (old age seems to mean I constantly forget things and get side tracked)
